Animated Insects, 2018
Weirdos: These three were an exploration of anatomy and how to severely exaggerate it in grotesque ways. Figures are my favorite things to draw, they can be all shapes and sizes, and they are fun to pose. All I wanted from these figures was for them to be elongated and creepy, and generally unpleasant in their appearances.
The most effective way to make your figure look unfortunate is to draw an excessive amount of creases. It will simulate roles of folding skin, also just playing with the scale and appearance of recognizable features like limbs and appendages is incredibly fun to do.
Digital Graffiti: This project was a earlier exploration of digital illustration mixed with photography. The natural first step before attempting to put 2-D characters in a 3-D space was to make fake graffiti. Like the project above, the illustrations and the photos were edited in Photoshop.
